New Story coming soon!

24 May

Okay, now that AMSB has ended, I am planning on taking a break to focus my attention in passing my classes this summer at college. As soon as it’s over though, I plan in coming back to FP with a brand new story. And guess what? You’re about to read some info on it – right now!

The story  is called Nest of Snakes. The story centers around Audrina, a young aspiring painter who lives with her single mother and her twin brother Austin, who happens to be gay. Audrina and Austin’s mother soon meets billionair Bartholomew Cobes, who immediately gets her to fall in love and marry him. Bartholomew whisks the tiny family of three to live with him and his family at his ancestral mansion. Tragedy strikes the twins when their mother mysteriously falls ill and dies, leaving Audrina and Austin alone in the dark and gloomy mansion to live with the Cobes family. There, the twins will come across a family filled with hate and darkness. Austin falls prey to aunt Flora’s religious views and in love with her repressed son, Luke.  Audrina is targeted by the jealous and evil Maggie, Aunt Flora’s sociopath of a daughter. Just as Audrina begins to feel a wretching helplessness from being left alone with her brother to live with the sinister Cobes, in comes Jacob Casteel like a night in shining armor. He is the son of the head maid Geneve, and also happens to like painting. But unbeknown to Audrina, she’s become the disturbing obsession of her step-father Bartholomew, who begins to take an unnatural liking to her.

Sounds good? I’m pretty excited to start writing this story! My plan is to begin writing it around August or September and then start posting the chapters up around late October or early November of this year.

I’ll keep you guys posted.

So, AMSB is over …

24 May

I finally finished Awake, My Sleeping Beauty. It was a little heart breaking when I chose the “COMPLETED” tab in my story’s status over at Fiction Press. I’m going to miss all these characters because I know I will never write them again. It’s done. The story has no sequel so I’m 120% sure that I will never write about Heaven and Sebastian’s romance, the crazy witty comments that only Susie can say, the loveable romance between old Gracie and old Don Guido. *Sigh* it truly is sad.

If you haven’t read yet, go over to my FictionPress and read the conclusion of AMSB!

And now that the story is over, I’m willing to answer any questions about the story and/or characters that you may have. Just leave them in our comments section and I will post up a Q&A post soon.

AMSB Extras: Knowing the characters

2 May

Below you can find photos of the four important characters of AMSB. I usually don’t tend to look for photos of celebrities to associate them to my characters because, in truth, I don’t picture THOSE celebrities when I’m writing my stories. I simply picture my own characters and they look like themselves. However, I’m doing this for fun and to play “Casting director” for a bit by choosing these people to give people with no imagination a better chance at picturing them. :P

Heaven Winters (Elisabeth Hornois)

Sebastian Sweeney (Ian Somerhalder)

Esther Black (Kat Dennings)

Ricardo Del Olmo (Gael Garcia Bernal)

There you have it, folks. Do any of you have an idea of a celebrity that may match the characters of Susie and Leo? What about the rest of the characters? If you have any ideas feel free to send them through my Fiction Press page by PM’ing them to me, or you can post it in the comment section here.

AMSB coming to an end & New Projects

24 Apr

The end of AMSB

It was sometime in the middle of 2007 when the idea of a young woman who loses her memory and the love of her life dropped into my little factory of imagination. I tried to imagine what it would be like for the guy, who’s loved this girl with all his heart, to suddenly have her die in a terrible accident, only to discover that she’s alive after returning to his home town years later.

I was originally going to write this story in spanish as an exercise so I can perfect my writing. Had I not changed my mind, this story would have been called Despierta, Mi Bella Durmiente and Heaven, would have been called Aurora (Ha, see the connection? Just like in the Disney movie). I completely abandoned the story late in 2007 and focused on re-writing and “operating” on the novel that I’d been working on Shadows of Mystery, which needed serious tweaking and re-structuring. It wasn’t until mid 2008 that I remembered about AMSB and chose to write it in English – just for fun.

Right.

What was supposed to be a 10 chapter story immediately turned into 15. The characters I thought I had sketched out perfectly pulled a 180 on me and next thing I knew, I ended up with a 36 chapter full blown romance novel. I know the writing might not be perfect now, but that is why when some time passes (about a year or so), I’ll simply go back and re-read the story with fresh eyes and with a red pen in my hand, ready for corrections and re-writes. The story won’t change (unless I tend to publish it and an Agent tells me otherwise), but I’m sure some paragraphs will stick out and I’ll be like “OK, this NEEDS to change!”

New Projects

With Awake, My Sleeping Beauty coming to an end, I already have a fresh new story in mind, which I plan to start writing sometime in August of this year and with the first posting being around October 2009, just like AMSB was done last year.

I won’t reveal too much about this new story I’m going to write. All I will say is that it tells the story a young woman who dreams of succeeding as a Painter and seems to have everything going for her, a remarkable talent with paint, loving parents, a great education, and perfect health, but all that quickly changes when life takes a turn for the worst for her and her twin brother.

Welcome guys & gals!
